Guided Hunts

Guided hunts are really nothing new, in one form or another they have been going on for centuries. In Europe, kings relied upon their gamesmen to show them where the game was on their estates so that they could still enjoy days hunting, yet were all but guaranteed to come away successful. Big game hunters who head to Africa still rely on guides to help them find the best places to hunt in much the same as they have since the first white hunter traveled to Africa in search of the lions and tigers many decades ago. Here in the western world guided hunts have become far more popular as game and places to hunt have both become harder to find. In part this is due to more of the big game being thinned out and in part it is because many of the old open hunting areas are being closed off or overgrown with urban sprawl. This leaves the areas that are left to hunt in being further out into the surviving wilderness, where only those who really know the area can find the best places to hunt.

One of the best parts of guided hunts is that you hire a guide that has spent many years living and hunting in a particular area. This means that in general he knows every trail and watering area almost as well as he knows the back of his hand. It also means that with the help of your guide you have a much better than average chance of actually finding the best game to kill. Often when trying to hunt area on your own, finding the best places to hunt can be next to impossible leaving you to come away empty handed more often than not. When you pay for guided hunts, you are generally in a very small party of hunters just like yourself or in some cases the only other person besides the guide.

This allows your guide to place all of his focus on making sure that you get the hunting experience of a lifetime. You do not have to be an experienced hunter to enjoy one of these hunting trips, this is why you are paying the guide, in all reality all you need to be is a good shot so that when your guide finds the right quarry for you to shoot, you do not miss the mark. There are dozens of different guided hunts; some of them are strictly for one type of game such as bear or deer while other take hunters into private reserves that have been stocked with a variety of game for you to hunt. By far the best ones are those that take you hunting in the natural wilderness such as the ones offered by Hunt Riverside in Manitoba, Canada. Not only do they offer you guided hunting, but you get 3 home cooked meals a day along with a fully equipped cabin to stay in while you are their guest.
