Guided deer hunts for 2011

By Gildas Paradis | November 29, 2011

Just finished our guided deer hunts for 2011, and the weather was good and bad. Good because our hunters didn't freeze to death, bad because the it was warm and access to some prime hunting areas was too dangerous. Thin ice made it difficult to hunt some of our best areas. It truned cold and made 4 inches of ice on the rivers, but then it warmed up and anywhere there was cat tails or vegetaion the ice didn't freeze. Add very high water and just getting on and off the rivers was challenging. We had made a good road across but then mid week it warmed up incredibly and it became dangerous to take guests across the ice. Warm weather is still here since last week. But, being prepared for worst we have other sreas scouted and tree stands set up, and our last 2 hunters bagged their stags on the last day of their hunt! Nice deer, will post pics soon as i retrieve my camera.

Tons of deer sign and sightings this year, likely the best i have seen in years! I am trying to find the time between my very busy days to get out and drop a nice buck but it is over in 4 days so i beeter get on it.

Wolves are still killing game, follow tracks everywhere and they have the deer on the move big time.

Bye for now,
