Spring is here! Birds are returning and the snow is melting. As i type this there is a flock of geese honking as they pass over the lodge.

The madness of the rut has calmed down a bit. Bucks aren't storming across the woods chasing after does. It's getting colder, and the bucks are worn out from the rut.

We have seen the first couple Canada Geese yesterday flying north over the big lake Winnipegosis. I don't know where they are going because we have 2 ft of snow yet and 4 ft of ice? I am optimistic it is a sign of spring.

Wind and cold temperatures have really hindered our plans for this winter. Mother nature, who seems to have something against me at times, has thrown another curve ball and put us into the deep freeze.
