Not all of Manitoba is on fire

Firstly, we feel terrible for our fellow outfitters who have been devastated by the out of control fires and we wish nothing but the best for them while they navigate going forward.
Many of the calls we are getting have been regarding the forest fires in Manitoba and if we are affected by them. The news people in the USA are hearing is Manitoba is burning. A lot of it is and that is very sad, but our area has not been subject to any wildfire threats. The fires are mainly in the northern half of Manitoba in the boreal forests which is aprox. 300 miles north of us. We are in the south central portion of the province east of the Duck Mountains, the parkland area. Spruce, pine (Boreal) are a dangerous fuel source especially in dry conditions. However our area is mixed woods with many species of different trees and terrain, which can also be flammable in dry conditions, we are fortunate that no fires grew to uncontrolled wildfire and were extinguished quickly. And now the weather has turned to rain, and lots of it so the threat is greatly reduced. We hope the northern part of Manitoba has gotten the same rain systems to help put out the fires.
So if you are wanting to hunt Manitoba you still can as our area is still as good as always. Give us a call or shoot us an email and we are happy to talk hunting with you.
