Pole carry a bear

This is an oldie! How many of you have carried a bear out like this? It isn't my favorite way but dragging them isn't easy either since there is nothing to hold on to. No antlers, just sharp claws that will scratch you when you try to pull them by the feet. I have a few tools in my pack to make the job easier but this pole method works good too. Staying in the rhythm of the bear swaying side to side over uneven terrain is also a challenge and bigger bears will require a few rests along the way. Pro tip- i learned that day so long ago while retrieving that sow. If you can, take hold of the front because the back end can be quite stinky!
