Ready for the flood
Well we spent 4 days hauling and placing 2200 sandbags at our new location on Dauphin Lake. We are at the mouth of the Valley River which is a major river that drains all the crop lands between the Riding Mountain and Duck Mountains into Lake Dauphin. This could very well be the year that the lodge will flood so we sandbagged it just in case. Maybe we won't need it, but i don't like taking chances with mother nature. We've had way too much snow and went into winter with 100 year high water levels. I have things prepared at our Duck Bay location also but it has never been close to the buildings, so here's hopin this isn't the year for that either. I do have a 2ft clay birm around the new lodge and the other buildings are high with no basements. Next 2 weeks will be intersting, and hopefully not expensive. Stay tuned for updates and lots of water pictures.
