Riverside Lodge
Whitetail hunting trips are designed for hunters who are ready
to put in the time on stand, and who are prepared for the cold.
Unfortunately the colder the weather the faster the action when
hunting rutting deer. The cold helps "get things going" and the
does need to feed more often. We hunt several hundred square
miles of heavy bush and we set up tree stands along historical
travel routes, rub/scrape lines, open meadows and ridges between
feeding and bedding areas. Shots from 50 yards out to 300
are possible. There have been very big Deer shot from these
stands. For gun hunters we use natural vegetation to build our stand blinds and our tree stands
are custom built for ample room and Safety. For bow hunters we
use hide sparingly on the stands so we don't interrupt a shot
opportunity. We pattern
Rutting Bucks and feeding does to help us decide if/when to hunt
a stand, then we hunt the wind direction and visible sign. We
spend the entire year tracking and noting deer behavior and try
to use the info to give us the "edge". You will be hunting in
our remote allocation and if all things come together, you will
get a chance at a heavy non typical Manitoba Monster Buck. As
are all of our hunts, you will have an adventure like no other.
The area is huge and most of the deer will not have seen a human
before. The main predator of these animals are the Timber
Wolves, not humans. So if you see a wolf,
shoot it! Your deer license allows you to take one wolf before your Deer.

We employ
experienced professional hunting guides who are very proud of their
work. They know the area and the Deer. We provide 1 guide per 2
hunters.
Our equipment is
also in very good condition and diligently maintained to ensure
a Safe experience. With a fleet of 10 boats and many types of
off road vehicles and snowmobiles we always have a way to hunt.
If you want a REAL Wilderness hunt
with a good chance at a Monster Whitetail, delicious meals, warm
friendly accommodations with expert staff, then give us a chance
to host your next hunting trip.
DID YOU KNOW?
Why Manitoba
Deer grow so big?
It is
true there are places with more deer, but not many with as big
of deer! Our deer live a long time, in fact most will die of old
age. For very good reason too, our
Whitetail Deer
suffer almost no vehicle
encounters. There is a very low usage highway on the southern
boarder of our allocation and no other vehicle roads. The
hunting pressure is next to none and the chance of seeing
another hunter out here is slim to none. The area is very big,
1200 sq. miles, very difficult to navigate with respect to
getting lost and some obstacles to overcome and located away
from large populations of people. The only predator these deer
have are wolves and weather. There is plenty of water, food and
cover, all the things they need to survive. So if you want a big
deer, not lots, have a look at our area. It is an incredible
feeling to fool these big deer and take him home with you.
Manitoba is gaining recognition
for it's fantastic Whitetail hunting. Not only great
opportunities but when you harvest a mature buck in Manitoba, it
is a trophy by itself. You can be extra proud of your ability to
kill a mature Buck on it's terms, in the wild, on a Fair Chase
Hunt. As all hunters know, it is no easy task fooling a
Whitetail Buck, arguably the most difficult game animal in North
America to kill, so when you hang your Manitoba Trophy Whitetail
on the wall, hang it high, because it stands out among the rest.
There are trophy deer and there are Manitoba Trophy Deer, be
extra proud.
Now all this sounds
like hard work doesn't it? It is, but fun work that we enjoy and
what trophy doesn't take effort?
This deer was shot this fall 2007, 20 miles west of our bush!
Now it's your turn, call us to book your chance.
